Camp Woodland 2025
Camp Woodland in Georgia is a beautiful setting for your camp experience. It is a 120-acre camp spanning two sides of a central lake. This will be the second year we will be on the west (Heritage) side of the facility.
Camp focus: The focus of Camp Woodland will be on helping you build a closer relationship with God, Jesus Christ and other teens your age. Drawing from God's word, you will develop new life and leadership skills through the camp experience. This year's theme, "Building on the Foundation," will help you see how you can establish ethical, moral, spiritual life skills that will allow you to have a wonderful life now and the blessing of eternal life, yet ahead!
Dorm life: Dorms are grouped by age and will have multiple counselors to oversee, guide, direct and mentor the campers. This dorm structure provides campers with the opportunity to create lifelong friendships and allows for a more tailored learning experience based on maturity level.
Camp activities: This year we plan to again offer archery, basketball, campfires, canoeing, dance class, high and low ropes courses with a zip line over the lake, kayaking, paddle boats, speed-away, softball, swimming, traverse wall, ultimate frisbee and volleyball.
Bedding and towels: All campers will sleep in bunk beds. Campers and staff need to bring their own bed sheets, blankets, a pillow and towels to camp.
Travel: Camp Woodland is 45 minutes away from Hartsfield-Jackson International airport in Atlanta, Georgia. For those flying into Atlanta, we will arrange free transportation to/from camp. To ensure you have transportation to and from the airport, you must inform us that you plan to fly to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport when you receive your acceptance letter.

AIRPORT ARRIVAL: Plan your flight arrival time at the Atlanta GA airport if possible from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, July 21st. Parents, you may want to call the airline or airport to ask if airport personnel can escort your son or daughter from the gate to the baggage claim area. NOTE: If arriving/departing by air, UYC Camp Woodland will assign staff to transport to/from the Atlanta, GA airport.
ADDITIONAL FLIGHT ARRIVAL DETAILS: An adult who is a church member will meet campers at their airlines’ baggage claim area within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. That person will hold a sign reading “UYC Camp Woodland” and may be wearing a camp shirt to identify himself/herself to campers. We cannot meet campers at the gate so please instruct your camper to wait at the baggage claim area where they will meet our camp staff. From there we will go to the van. If additional campers on other flights have not yet arrived, they will wait all together under staff supervision. We will not leave them alone.

ADDITIONAL FLIGHT DEPARTURE DETAILS: When returning to the airport for the trip home, a camp staff member will generally accompany campers to the security checkpoint only. If the flight is delayed substantially, canceled, or missed for any reason, the parent or guardian will be telephoned immediately and made aware of the situation. The adult at the airport will call the Camp office. The office assistant will then call the respective parent or guardian to notify them of the situation.
