Once again for 2024, we will be returning to Camp Pinecrest in southeast Missouri to build a stronger relationship with God and continue building relationships with one another. Over the many years camp has been held at this location, storied traditions have developed, and new ones continue to be created as campers and staff pour their hearts and love for God into our camp week.
Immersed in the environment that Camp Pinecrest provides, campers and staff come together and embrace the fun and fellowship that God wants us to have with Him and one another. As a family, we start every morning together in a Christian living talk before spreading out across the camp for the remainder of our daily activities. An engaging Bible class and Q&A sessions provide additional time to explore God's word. Dorms are organized "family style" (multi-age) to encourage leadership and provide support for every camper.
Activities
Campers participate in a range of activities to challenge them physically and mentally. From outdoor activities that focus on skill and team building to a variety of indoor activities, there is something for everyone. Activities include archery, arts and crafts, Bible class, dance class, field sports, paddleboarding, riflery, all-day river float trip, teambuilding and volleyball.
One of the most requested additions to camp every year is "more fellowship time." Relationships are an important part of the UYC program and teens value and appreciate the friendships that have developed over the years. At Camp Pinecrest, we provide open gym times for activities such as pickup games, gaga ball, volleyball, basketball or just to spend time with friends.
Staff
Without our dedicated staff, we would not be able to create the God-focused environment that makes Camp Pinecrest a yearly success. Many of our counselors and staff return year after year to further their relationships with the campers they serve. Our staff makeup continues to develop from within as campers "age out" yet want to come back to serve on staff. These campers-turned-staff have internalized "the Zone" and God's way of life and now want to give back as a part of the traditions so well-loved at Camp Pinecrest.
If you would like to join our staff, please note that staff workers must be 18 years of age or older and need the recommendation of their pastor. Every staff member must complete pre-camp training and some activities require specialized training or experience.
