Northwest Preteen Camp
Northwest Preteen Camp 2017 will be held again in the beautiful foothills of Mt. Hood in Welches, Oregon. The theme for this year will be the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). If you want to be a Fruit of the Spirit you can’t be a coconut or a banana or a cherry because the Fruit of the Spirit is: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
The theme will provide a multitude of ideas for counselors, arts and crafts staff, activity directors, and Christian living teachers. A big thank you to the parents and volunteers who sacrifice time and finances to be part of a great service to God’s youth. Registration for preteen camps will be online at uyc.ucg.org.
The following is a list of activities to look forward to at Northwest Preteen Camp:
Swimming provides an opportunity to learn a new skill and have great fun.
River float assures an adventure with brightly colored inner tubes carrying campers down the Salmon River and beyond . . . We haven’t lost anyone so far . . .
Archery is an all-time favorite. Who knows what targets the archery director will come up with this year.
Arts and crafts class also provides a service project for the shut-ins and special creations to take home.
Sports classes explain the theme and further advance the concepts in unique ways.
Dance and music gives campers a concept of movement to music, and campers learn the Feast songs.
Campfire is fun and engaging with silly songs and great skits from each dorm.
