Camp Woodmen 2017

Camper Age Range: 12 to 18 
Camper Tuition:  $260 (if payment is postmarked on or before Monday, June 12, 2017); $290 after June 12.
Staff Tuition: no charge  
Dates: July 23–30, 2017 (staff arrives July 22)
Where: Blountsville, Alabama (northern Alabama)
 

We are looking forward to a wonderful Camp Woodmen 2017! Although it’s possible a few activities may change, it is intended that this year activities will include: archery, basketball, Christian living classes, dance class, riflery, sand volleyball, softball, speedaway, swimming & water sliding, team challenge and ultimate frisbee. United Youth Camps are more than just activities. Camp is centered on the Bible and strengthening our relationship with God with campers who are trying to live God’s way all year long.

Dates & Times

Staff members should plan to attend an afternoon Sabbath service on July 22 @ 2:30 PM CDT (all times are in the Central Time Zone) in the Gadsden, Alabama, area.  Staff orientation and training will follow that evening and Sunday morning. Specific details will be sent later to all staff members accepted.

Camper registration will occur from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 23.  Checkout and departure for everyone will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 30.

Housing 

Air conditioned facilities are used for both campers and staff.

Transportation
Transportation will be provided to/from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM).

Staff Needs

We are always on the lookout for staff members who hold current certifications in nursing, lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR.  Questions about specific staff needs should be sent to the camp director.

We would appreciate your prayers for God’s blessing on our efforts to build a safe, Christian zone that provides a foretaste of God’s Kingdom. Participants can expect a well-structured and safe program that provides challenging activities and the opportunity to make lifelong friendships. Applications

To apply to Camp Woodmen, or for more details, visit the website: http://uyc.ucg.org.

Once the application is in, you will receive an email to upload a recent picture of the camper. You will also receive an email to fill out the signature form. Please get these electronic forms filled out quickly. It will help immensely!

Payment:

Payment needs to be postmarked by June 12th. There will be a late fee of $30 for late payment. If the camper is not accepted your check will not be deposited. If you have questions about payment please email before the payment due date (June 12, 2017).

After acceptance is sent by email you will also receive an email to complete the transportation information for how the camper or staff will arrive to camp.

Medical information will be completed in the application process and medical forms will be for the parents to keep.
