Description and Activities
Come join us for our second year at Camp Cotubic! Camp Cotubic includes a 14-acre lake and 150 acres of open and wooded grounds near Bellefontaine, Ohio. It is located approximately 60 miles northwest of Columbus and about 60 miles northeast of Dayton.
The dates for Camp Cotubic are June 17-24, 2012 (with staff arriving June 16). Campers should plan their arrival sometime between 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 17; departure by 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 24. Arrival by airline is possible through the Columbus International Airport. We will offer no-cost transportation between Camp Cotubic and the Columbus airport.
Because our focus at camp is building life-long relationships with God and each other, each day will start with an interactive Bible-study. Additional question-and-answer sessions (focusing on biblical and Christian-living topics) will also be offered during camp. Every day will end with a lively campfire program that will include songs, skits, stories, challenges and games. So bring your talents and imagination with you! Along with several fun and challenging activities, there will be enough free-time to enjoy talking with friends, old and new. Camp will finish strong with a restful and inspiring Sabbath, to be followed with a final dance.
Housing for campers and staff are in comfortable cabins and lodges, with plenty of shower and bathroom facilities.
Activities that we plan to offer include: basketball, volleyball, softball, speed-a-way, archery, swimming, high ropes challenge course, canoeing / kayaking, arts & crafts, climbing wall / zip-line / giant swing, media, and dance. (Activities are subject to change, depending upon staff qualifications and other factors.) There will be plenty of time at the lake – which includes a blob, trampoline, 170-foot water-slide, paddle-boats, and fishing. Additionally, we plan an evening at the giant slip-n-slide, partaking of “the ultimate yuck”!
To view this fine facility, visit the Camp Cotubic website: http://www.campcotubic.com .
Ages for campers are 12 – 18 years old (including 2012 high-school graduates). Adults who are at least 18 years old and graduated from high-school are encouraged to apply as staff. We are looking for mature, fun workers whose first priority is serving the needs of the campers. Camper tuition is $255 (if sent in before May 1) or $270 (if sent in after May 1). There is no cost for most staff; there will be a few junior staff positions for some first-time, younger staff at a reduced tuition rate.
Apply early on-line using the APPLY FOR CAMP ONLINE link on the right– and help make this year at Camp Cotubic another great one! We look forward to having you there.
